Context & Objective

In 2017, the UN defines a new leadership framework to adapt to the leadership demands of the 21st century and to ensure that the objectives of the 2030 Agenda are achieved.

In order to develop managers and directors of all UN agencies, funds and programs in the new defined leadership competencies, a comprehensive and ambitious leadership training is developed,  consisting of different online and face-to-face components and with the collaboration of faculty from prestigious universities.

Scope of our collaboration

​An essential part of leadership training is the executive coaching program with a 360 leadership assessment.
​- More than 80 executive coaching processes
- ​Managers, executives and new talents from different UN agencies in more than 20 countries and nationalities.
​- Languages: English, Spanish and German
- Format: Online

Results

  • Increased awareness about areas of  strengths and improvement as well as behavioral patterns.
  • Mindset changes that allow the development of more effective leadership habits.
  • Increased knowledge about effective leadership in the 21st century, new models, concepts and frameworks that facilitate putting into practice new behaviors and ways of interacting.

I was paired up with Mirja for the coaching sessions within the UN Secretariat Executive Management Programme in July 2019... Mirja is and excellent listener; she helps you explore all the options without forcing your decision. She is flexible and manages time perfectly without rushing the other person. She never looks judgmental and follows you without telling you what you should or should not do. She never brings any moral judgement in the conversation and does not force words in your mouth.... She made me realize that I had a strong moral compass that is blocking me from making though decisions. If I did, I used the reactive approach. For example, I could put up with some attitudes that are clearly bothering from supervisors and colleagues just to keep the peace. She helped me find the right way to express my disapproval without being confrontational. She also made me find ways to set realistic goals to myself and to the staff reporting to me... In short, Mirja helped me connect with my True Self and find my unique leadership style. Today I have overcome a lot of challenges that would have been almost impossible to face without the insights I got through the coaching of Mirja. She is simply great at what she does!
