RESPONSIVE LEADER
Becoming a responsive leader requires an internal change of the person – because we can only develop new behaviors if we have previously challenged and changed our habitual ways of thinking and functioning.
OUR STORY
When we founded Responsive Leadership in 2013, we - Jenny Buckland and Mirja Klotz - shared a core belief: leaders need to move beyond reactive patterns driven by pressure or fear, and develop more responsive ways of thinking, leading and relating to meet the complexity of today’s leadership challenges.
Over the years, we have seen in our own leadership journeys, and in our work with clients, that developing more responsive ways is not linear. It requires awareness, reflection, unlearning, relearning and consistent practice. This was the foundation of our partnership: a shared commitment to continuous learning, honest reflection and a genuine interest in supporting one another - and our clients - to grow in responsive ways.
Although our professional journeys took different paths at one point, our friendship and passion for leadership development remain. Today, Mirja leads Responsive Leadership and collaborates with a trusted international network of coaches.



ABOUT MIRJA KLOTZ
Specialized in leadership development and based in Barcelona, I have worked with executives and managers worldwide since 2011 - across cultures, industries and the United Nations system - in English, Spanish and German.
I bring 12 years of international business experience to my coaching work, including seven years in strategy consulting. I hold an MBA from ESADE Business School and have gained international experience across Germany, Spain, the USA, Australia and Thailand.
This multicultural perspective shapes how I support leaders as they work across cultures, navigate complexity and build environments that foster performance and wellbeing.
My work is grounded in a deep interest in human behavior and in the belief that inner development drives leadership impact. I integrate business experience, coaching expertise and experiential methods so leaders can expand their self-awareness, strengthen their leadership mindset, and lead with greater presence, authenticity and intention.
